Eastham, 78, of Murrells Inlet, SC, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, SC. Born in Doylestown, PA, she moved to Myrtle Beach in 1995. Jeannett retired from Carteret Savings and Loan Association in Hamilton Square after 25 years of service. Jeannett is predeceased by her parents, Albert C. and Marie F. (Mardnella) Colclough and husband, Robert E. Eastham. She is survived by her daughter, Debra M. Cimini of Murrells Inlet, SC, her stepson, Robert S. Eastham of Ewing, NJ, her stepdaughter, Carol Eastham of Myrtle Beach, SC; her grandchildren, Anthony M. Cimini of Crosswicks, NJ and Angela M. Cimini of Murrells Inlet, SC, Kimberly Eastham of Minnesota and Rene Harrison of Trenton, NJ; her sisters Betty Raynor of Myrtle Beach, SC and Eleanor Futch of Pembroke, GA; her brother, Albert C. Colclough of Manning, SC; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her long time companion of eight years, Guy Ciffoi. He was educated in the Elberton, GA. Mr. Sanders was employed by Herman Spiegel Furniture and retired from Coca-Cola. Son of the late John and Laura Lou Sanders, brother of the late Willis S. Sanders, George Washington Sanders and John Sanders Jr. Mr. Sanders is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Gloria J. Sanders, son Ronald Dunn, grandson Jalen Lee Dunn, a brother Eddie Davis Sanders, five sisters Rummell Hester, Willie Lorene Allen (Elder James Allen), Lola Bell Hester (Hoyt Hester), Rosa Lee Dubose (Calvin Dubose), and Christine Flantroy, four sisters-in-law Racheal Reed (Sidney), Claudette Crews, Nett Dunn, Charlotte Dunn, four brothers-in-law John Dunn (Muriel), Robert Dunn, Allen Dunn and Jimmy Dunn, devoted niece and nephew Shirl Dunn and Mark Dunn, a host of other relatives and friends. Born in Wadesboro, NC, she was educated in the public school systems of Wadesboro and later in Hamilton Township, NJ where she lived for over 60 years. She retired from General Motors, Fisher Body Plant, Ewing, NJ after many years of service. Mrs. Gibbs was a faithful member of St. Phillips Baptist Church of Hamilton, NJ and later, First Baptist Church of Pennington, NJ where she served with the Missionary and Usher ministries. She relocated to Milan, TN in 2011 where she attended Agape Christian Fellowship Church. She was predeceased by her parents, Rose M. Barrett-Logan-Roberson and Eugene Hinson, stepfather, Jesse Logan, Sr., and one brother, Jesse Logan, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Raymond T. The Trentonian, r Evelyn Maurer SEASIDE PARK - Evelyn Maurer (nee Swanson) 100 of Seaside Park, NJ passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2013. She was born and raised in Yardville Heights, NJ then after 15 years in Yardley, PA retired permanently in Seaside Park, NJ in 1964. In their youth, Evelyn and her late husband, Matthew, spent many happy times in Seaside Park Surf fishing and crabbing on the Barnegat bay on their boat. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Matthew Joseph Maurer in 1998, her beloved granddaughter Susan B Love, her granddaughter Diane's husband Jeffrey Orstein, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws, Gail and Robert Love of Del Ray Beach, FL and Marilyn and William Casey of Seaside Park, NJ. Also surviving is her beloved granddaughter Dianne Love of Pompano Beach, FL. Evelyn was blessed with a full and healthy life among loving family, friends and caring neighbors, all while living in the places she loved best Yardley, Pa, Jensen Beach, FL and Seaside Park, NJ. The Trentonian, John J. Maty EWING - John J. Maty, 80, of Ewing, NJ passed away Monday, September 9, 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Langhorne, PA. Born in Trenton, NJ, Mr. Maty was a lifelong area resident. He was a Korean War U.S. Navy veteran. John loved trips to the casino, doing crossword puzzles, and enjoyed hunting and bowling as well. He was an avid San Francisco 49er fan as well as a Philadelphia Phillies fan. John formerly worked for Homasote, and the Mercer County Library. He was a devoted and loving father and grandfather. Son of the late Steven and Mary (Tkacs) Maty; husband of the late Elvira "Vera" (Oliveri) Maty, and Katherine (Nutt) Maty; brother of the late Mary Clayton, Stephen and George Maty; he is survived by his four daughters, Dr. Donna Paulowsky, Diane and husband Alexander Herceg, Lisa and husband Troy Yaede, Laura and husband Nicholas Gregorio; eight grandchildren, Ashley Paulowsky, Alexander and Samantha Herceg, Jonathan, Zachary, and Joshua Yaede, Natalie and Nicole Gregorio; a nephew, Billy Clayton; a sister-in-law, Jean Ferdetta; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. The Trentonian, Doris M. Scobey BEACH HAVEN-Doris M. Scobey (nee Hamann), age 84, of Beach Haven passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013 at her home surrounded by family. Doris was born in Rosedale, NJ and summered in Long Beach Island since 1951, residing permanently in 1981. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Beach Haven Terrace and volunteered her time with the Long Beach Island Historical Assoc. and Deborah Heart and Long Hospital- Long Beach Island Branch. She was a member of the Southern Ocean Hospital Boosters and the Ladies Golf Assoc., Ocean Acres. She enjoyed golfing and playing bridge, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, John W. Scobey, IV (1996), Doris is survived by her daughter, Donna and her husband Dave Owen and their children, Jennifer Connaghan and Chad David Owen, daughter, Kathy and her husband Frank Perro and their children, Christie Tuttle, Dawn Regan and Samantha Lillian Perrotta. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren Zachary Tuttle and John, Megan and Ryan Connaghan and her sisters Joyce Carson and Elizabeth Rogers Gaiser. The Trentonian, George E. Deodato LAWRENCEVILLE - George E. Deodato, 88, of Lawrenceville entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 7th at Merwick Care and Rehabilitation Center, Plainsboro, NJ. Born to his beloved parents George and Eva Borelli Deodato in Trenton, he moved to Lawrenceville in 1957. Mr. Deodato was a graduate of Trenton High School - class of 1942 and Rutgers University - class of 1950, where he earned his BA in Chemistry. Upon graduation, he worked as a research chemist before joining National Starch and Chemical Company in Manville, NJ. Mr. Deodato retired from National Starch as the Human Resource Director after a 25year career An avid reader, he was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 7000 and among the first lecturers and Eucharistic ministers of his beloved St. Ann's Church, a duty which continued as long as he was able. Mr. Deodato had the rank of Staff Sergeant and served as a medic in US Army during WWII and had been stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Predeceased by a sister-in-law, Lillian Iero, he is survived by his wife, Carolyn, (married 60 years ago today, September 12); his daughter and son-in-law, Karen D. and David Swift of Robbinsville; his son and daughter-in-law, John J. and Sandra B. Deodato of Portland, OR; 3 granddaughters, Maria, Laura and Juliann Swift; his sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Norbert Aicher of Langhorne, PA; 2 sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mildred and Joseph Oswald of Hamilton Square, Marianne Battista of Florence and Frank Iero of Lawrenceville; dearest friends, Michael and Marilyn Starr and their family; also, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends on Tuesday (Sept. 17) beginning 8:30am in the chapel of The Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrenceville Rd. Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Born in Trenton she was a lifelong resident. Carmella was employed by General Motors before her retirement. She was an active member of Our Lady of the Angels Parish and its Senior Citizens Club and 1-20 Club. Carmella and her longtime girlfriends were members of the "Has Been" Club. Daughter of the late, Francesco and Angela Maria Belardo; wife of the late, Louis J. Foldetta; and sister of the late, Dominick(Happy) Belardo, Pasquale(Pat) Belardo, Agnes Ciaramella and Patricia Wascavage. She is survived by her children, Frank and his wife Barbara Foldetta of Hamilton and Arlene J, Foldetta with whom she resided; a brother and spouse, Vincent and Dolores Belardo of Hamilton; brother-in-law, Eddie Wascavage; sister-in-law, Tina Belardo; grandson and spouse, Frank and Kristen Foldetta; great granddaughter, Ashley Lynn Foldetta; and many nieces and nephews. South Jersey Local News, Gail Ruberton (nee Rackard) 57, of Shamong, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 8, 2013, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of Michael for 30 years. Dear sister of Joann (Ray) Welch, Jill (Bob) Abrams, Bobby (Lois) Rackard, Johnnie Ruth (Carmen) Chappine, and the late Aaron Rackard and Bit Morhauser. Loving Aunt of Robby and Tia Morhauser and many other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her cherished friend Kyle Forcinito. Gail's passions included spending time with her lifelong love, childhood sweetheart and best friend Michael. She was happiest spending time in her garden amongst her flowers and plants. For the last 40 years Gail worked as a hairdresser, and served as a friend and trusted confidant to her many clients. In our lifetime we will never meet a more warm, generous and kind person. She has always been the center of the family and her home an open invitation. We will always remember Gail for the way she transformed her home during the holidays and, through decorating, turned it into a welcoming space for friends and family. She was a warm, friendly and giving person and we were all blessed to have her in our lives. The Trentonian, Theresa F. (Schuldes) Gabert ROBBINSVILLE - Theresa F. (Shuldes) Gabert, 66, of Robbinsville, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at home. Born in Trenton, Theresa was a lifelong Robbinsville and Windsor resident. She was a member of the German American Club and former member of the Windsor United Methodist Church. Theresa was employed as the head of food service for Compass Food Services for ten years. Theresa was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Above all else she enjoyed family gatherings, family picnics and family game night. Predeceased by her parents Lena and Nicholas Schuldes, her brother Max Schuldes and her former husband, Otto Gabert; Theresa is survived by her sons, Kurt Gabert and his wife, MaryLynn and Matt Gabert and his wife, Chastidy; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and William Gabona; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Nicholas and Maria Schuldes and Michael and Lenora Schuldes; her grandchildren, Matthew Jacob, Kole Nickolas and Annalise Gabert and Justin Christopher Snyder and many nieces and nephews. South Jersey Local News, ANTHONY F. GERIKE, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 9th, 2013 at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees, NJ. He was 79 years of age. Born in Camden, NJ he resided in Medford Lakes for the past 50 yrs. moving there from Haddonfield, NJ. A well known Attorney in the Medford and Medford Lakes area he began his career with Ross and Gladden which later became Powers and Gerike. He was best known for his title company Mohawk Abstract and his law office of Gerike and Gerike both in Medford, NJ. He was a graduate of Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA in 1956 and received his law degree from Temple University in 1961. He was a long time member of Faith United Presbyterian Church in Medford, NJ since 1965 and the Medford Lakes Country Club where he was a part of the Tuesday Night League. He is the Beloved Husband of Margaret J. (Nee Mahoney) of Medford Lakes, NJ and the Loving Father of Paul Anthony Gerike and his wife Susan of Bordentown, NJ; Joseph Frank Gerike and his wife Albina of Medford, NJ and Matthew John Gerike of Newark, DE. He is also survived by his brother Ted Gerike of Phila., PA and his grandchildren Madeline, Emma, Sean, Lucas and Benjamin. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday from 6:00 - 9:00 PM AM at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Rd., Medford, NJ. Pioneer Press - Twin Cities, AGE 87 of KIRKLAND ,WA DIED AUGUST 23, 2013 Preceded in death by parents Dr. Harold J. and Belle Prendergast of St. Paul and daughters Rachel and Margaret. Jim is survived by his wife of 63 years Barbara (Cummings), daughters Brigid (Steve) Rhyne and Charlotte Yochem and sister Mary Kelly. A graduate of St. Thomas Military Academy '44, he served in the 101st Airborne Division during WWII. He worked as an oil and gas attorney in Texas and lately retired to Kirkland, WA. Memorial Mass was held at Holy Family Catholic Church on September 13, 2013. Jim was a kind and gentle, man of faith. May he rest in peace.
