The Trentonian, Judy Adriatico HORSHAM, Pa. - Judy Adriatico of Horsham, formerly of North Wales and Trenton, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. She was 74. Judy was the beloved wife of Joseph Adriatico with whom she had shared 60 years of marriage. She was born in Bristol, PA, a daughter of the late John and Florence (nee DeCore) Venturino. The love of Judy's life was being the Matriarch of her family, helping and supporting when needed. As a family they owned and operated Mr. Pizza in Lansdale and more recently she worked with Primary EyeCare Associates in Horsham. In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters Joann McPhillips and her husband David and Susan Adriatico-Ramjeet and her husband Damien, two grandchildren Matt and Nicole McPhillips, a sister Ceil Crea and her husband Tony, a brother John Venturino and his wife Fran, a sister-in-law Dot Gervasio, a brother-in-law Buzzy Adriatico and many loving nieces and nephews. Her life was completed when her grandchildren were born. She considered them her "King and Queen". She loved spending time with her precious toy poodles Louie and Deigo, and spending every Sunday sharing a big Italian dinner with her family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Celebration of Life services on Monday, February 3, 2014, 11:30 a.m. in the Wayside chapel at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler. Born in Hazelton, PA, she was a Trenton area resident for most of her life. A Graduate of Trenton High School, Gloria was retired from Carter Wallace, Inc. of Cranbury, where she was a Laboratory Technician and was previously employed as a machine operator at Bayer Aspirin, Hamilton. She was a member of St. Raphael's Church, Hamilton and a former member of Immaculate Conception Church, Trenton. An Honorary Life Member of the Deborah Hospital Foundation, she was a member of both the Hamilton and Bordentown Chapters and actively promoted the foundation to this day. Daughter of the late George and Margaret Alampi Reigel, she is survived by her loving husband Angelo Lucidi, her sons Robert White of Bensalem, PA and James White of Hamilton, her daughter Peg Frisoli of Trenton, her sister Virginia Pisano of Browns Mills, 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Bradentown, Florida, Mrs. Riley was a trenton and Hamilton Twp. resident most of her life. She retired in 1998 after 25 years of service as the Night Shift Maintenance Supervisor at the Notre Dame High School. Dot was previously employed with the Westinghouse Electric Lamp plant on Pennington Avenue. She was a "die-hard" Dallas Cowboys football fan. dot loved spending quality timne with her grand and great-grandchildren. Also, she enjoyed her home vegetable garden and growing house plants. The Trentonian, Craig T. Bell Pennington- Craig T. (Pete) Bell, 85, entered into eternal rest on Sunday February 2 after a brief stay at the hospice pavilion in Chandler Hall, Newtown Pennsylvania. Pete, as he was more commonly known, was born June 9, 1928 in Wenham Massachusetts. After growing up in Beverly Massachusetts and graduating high school, Pete joined the Marines and was very proud to be a Marine Sergeant veteran. He graduated Colby College in Waterville Maine in 1953. After moving to New Jersey, Pete married Carol Theresa Enright August 25, 1956. They moved to Pennington in 1974. Pete retired from NECA (National Exchange Carrier Association) as Director of Data Systems in 1990. Pete was the epitome of a gentleman and a scholar, from his impeccable etiquette to his extensive knowledge on most subjects. He had a true presence about him and was well liked and respected by those that knew him. Pete's passions were his family, beagle Buster, reading and his staunch Conservative Republican beliefs. Pete is predeceased by his parents Gordon and Beatrice, his brother Gordon Jr. and his wife Carol. He is survived by his devoted daughter Barby (Bell) Mandy and son in law Don, his lifelong pal and son Peter Bell, daughter in law Debbie and his three treasured grandchildren Meghan, PJ, and Kathryn (whom he affectionately referred to as Katie) Bell. In addition, he will be especially remembered by his special friend Viola Udy, compatriot and kindred spirit John Mandy, as well as many additional family, friends and wonderful neighbors. A U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War, Louis was a talented singer, performing on various stages including "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson", "The Nat King Cole Show" as well as many area colleges including Rider College, Trenton State College and Rutgers University. Louis retired from Global Security and worked as a horse trainer for Showplace Farms in Millstone. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, was active in local veterans' organizations and was an avid harmonica player. Son of the late Thomas and Lucille Coleman, he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sylvia Brannon Coleman; his son, Raymond Coleman and his fiance Trina Davis of Trenton; a brother, Ernest Coleman of Bordentown; a sister, Ida Bell Hamilton of Willingboro, two grandsons, Raymond Rhoads of Yardville and Elijah Fields of Trenton and a host of nieces and nephews. He retired from Fedders Air Conditioning Co., Edison as a manager after many years with the company at both the Edison and, prior to that, the Trenton location. He was also previously employed as a tool and die maker at Delaval in Hamilton. James was an active member of the Colonial Fire Co. Auxillery and the Colonial Seniors Group. He was a gifted maker of and restorer of stained glass. The Trentonian, Vernice Louise Oliver-Smith EWING - Vernice Louise Oliver-Smith, 84 of Ewing departed this life on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Capital Health, Hopewell Campus Born in Trenton, NJ, Vernice was a lifelong area resident and was educated in the Trenton Public School System. She graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1948. She attended Mercer County Community College. She was employed at Mercer County Special Services School District as a teacher's assistant. Vernice was a faithful and dedicated member of Grace Cathedral Fellowship Ministries, Inc. where she served as President of the Gospel Chorus and Kitchen Supervisor. She was a part of the Parenting Committee at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. Vernice was predeceased by her husband, Algero Smith, Jr.; her parents, Bertha and Bonnie Oliver; a son, Roy Smith; four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert D. and Sharon Smith of Westampton, NJ; a daughter, Vonita Smith of Florence, NJ; two granddaughters, Janelle of Brooklyn, NY and Shannon of Brigantine, NJ; one brother, Ahmad Ali (Phyllis); two sisters, Betty Brown and Thelma Sharper (Abraham) all of Trenton, NJ; four sisters-in-law, Gloria Clark, Agnes Jackson, Francis Moody, and Yvonne Oliver; her childhood friend, Marguerite Bingham; three special nieces, Shawn Oliver, Cynthia Brown, and Talaya Needom; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral Services will be Monday, February 3, 2014 at 11am at Grace Cathedral Fellowship Ministries 1217 Calhoun St. Trenton, NJ 08638. Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 9am to 11am at the church. Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.

The Trentonian, John M. Owens HAMILTON - John M. Owens, 82, of Hamilton Square, entered heaven in the arms of his Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Lourdes Specialty Hospital of Southern New Jersey, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Owens was a graduate of Trenton Central High School, Class of 1949. He served in the U.S. Navy both active duty and reserves receiving an honorable discharge. In his early years, he was employed with Acme Hamilton where he was an Assembly Line Worker, Tow Motor Operator and assisted in their Distribution Department. He was later employed with C.V. Hills Refrigeration for many years Assembling Merchandise until his retirement. Mr. Owens also served as the Head Bartender at the Granada of Hamilton which was owned by his close friends. Mr. Owens was a member of St. Gregory the Great where he loved and worshiped his God. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was the most loving, caring, hard working and supportive husband and father. He was a proud "Pop" who adored his grandchildren and always supported them in their activities, sports, and performances. "Pop" loved everyone and had a special place in his heart for all. He had a passion for coaching Baseball and Soccer to children of all ages. "Pop" loved music, singing, the Beach, watching game shows, playing card, telling jokes and spending time with his family and close friends. He enjoyed watching sports, always supporting the Phillies but, he was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and always dressed head to toe in their attire. Husband of the late, Filomena C. (Cannuli) Owens, father of the late, John J. Owens, and brother of his ten late brothers and sisters; he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Phyllisann and Richard E. Danley of Hamilton Square; his grandchildren, Jason R. Danley and his fianc, Kyla Redmond, Dawn M. and Joseph D. Capizzi, Jr., Heather L. and Alisa T. Danley, all of Hamilton; his two sister-in-laws; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and his beloved companions, "Tinkerbell and Mitsy". Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. still awaiting a call back from St. Gregory's to confirm at St. Gregory the Great RC Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. Family and friends may call on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home. The Trentonian, Thelma A. Sturgis RICHMOND VIRGINIA - Thelma A. Sturgis, 95, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Masonic Home of Virginia in Richmond, VA. Born in Trenton, NJ, Mrs. Sturgis lived in Ewing for 35 years, moved to Estero, FL 16 years, Hamilton for five years, and then moved to Richmond, VA and has been living there for the past seven and a half years. Mrs. Sturgis was a graduate of Trenton High School and St. Francis School of Nursing, Class of 1939. She was a Registered Nurse, working at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton for many years. She then worked at H.D. Lee Company in Trenton, as a Personnel Manager, before retiring in 1971. Mrs. Sturgis was a former member of the Morning Star Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a Past Mother Advisor for Trenton Assembly #9, International Order of Rainbow for Girls. Predeceased by her husband, Charles H. Sturgis, Jr., her parents, Leslie F. and Helena E. (Patrick) Armstrong and her son-in-law, Richard F. Anthony; she is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Pamela and Daniel Rose of Midlothian, VA and Patricia Anthony of Hamilton; her five grandchildren, Rebecca Anthony-Ercolino and her husband, John, Sandra DePew and her husband, Kenneth, Karen Kline and her husband, Douglas, Scott Rose and his wife, Amber, and Thomas Anthony; and her eight great-grandchildren. The Trentonian, Elizabeth A. Edwards HAMILTON - Elizabeth A. Edwards, 79, formerly of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014 in Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, Port Orange, FL. Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident before moving to Florida in 1999. Mrs. Edwards was a graduate of the Middlesex School of Nursing at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, Class of 1955. After raising her children, she was employed with the Trenton Psychiatric Hospital as a Registered Nurse for many years before her retirement. Mrs. Edwards loved music and singing and always enjoyed an evening out that involved serenading (or entertaining) friends with her beautiful voice. Predeceased by her parents, Audrey and Edward G. Robbins; she is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Gregg M. Edwards of Bordentown and Gary F. and Patricia Edwards of Roebling; her daughter and son-in-law, Kristine and Joseph Leston of Holly Hill, FL; her sister, Susan L.
