Born in Trenton, he was a life long area resident Mr. Gennello served in the States Army during the Korean War. He was employed by Mushroom Transportation, Prime Point and the State of New Jersey as a truck driver retiring in 2009. Peter was a member of the Baron AA for 25 years. He enjoyed playing Poker, Pinochle and going on "Milk Runs" to Atlantic City. He also enjoyed spending time with his family especially his Grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, Dominic and Margaret Gennello, his loving wife of 60 years Joan and a son Dominic, He is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Greco and husband Joseph, Lori Usarzewicz and husband Steve, three brothers, Dominic Gennello, Anthony Gennello and wife Rosemary, Rocco Gennello and wife Gil,one sister Albina Bothwell, a special care giver Irma Dalton, four grandchildren, Joseph and Gianna Greco and Brittany and Lindsay Usarzewicz. Born in Trenton she was a lifelong resident of Lawrence and Hamilton Townships. She retired from General Motors Fisher Body after 30 years. Following GM she was employed by Mercatanti Ford, Bordentown, NJ for 14 years. Rose was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church, Trenton. She was also a member of Local 731 U.A.W. Union and The Mount Carmel Guild. Daughter of the late, Jesse and Rose Richetti Ailey; widow of Peter E. Mercatanti, Sr.; and sister of the late, Josephine Infantine, Francis C. Ailey and Thomas Ailey. She is survived by her son, Peter E. Mercatanti, Jr. and Lisa Mercatanti of Spring Lake NJ; daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary Scherma and Umberto Scherma, Sr. of Darnestown, Maryland; six grandchildren, Vinissa Mercatanti of Delray Beach, Fla., Christina Scherma of New York City, NY, Roberto Scherma of New York City, NY , Umberto Scherma, Jr. of West Palm Beach, Fla., Charles Adcock of Mounds, Ok and Peter C. Mercatanti of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three great grandchildren, Riley Blann, and Addison and Cooper Adcock ; and many nieces and nephews. The Trentonian, Vito Salvatore Gioia LAWRENCEVILLE - Vito Salvatore Gioia, 84, of Lawrenceville passed away quietly on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Spring Village at Floral Vale, Yardley, Pa. Born in Brooklyn, New York Vito was a resident of Lawrenceville since 1962. His parents emigrated from Sicily in the early 1900's. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant and was honorably discharged after serving two tours during the Korean Conflict. Vito was a Master meat cutter during his youth into his early adulthood. He attended Eastern District High School and Rider College. Vito was an avid hunter, fisherman and target shooter and loved the outdoors. He loved hunting with his late brothers Joseph Gioia and Gene Di Maria. His longtime friend Len Bucchino was with him during numerous hunting trips across the country and Canada. Vito later turned his energies into business and was an independent insurance broker in the greater Trenton area for over thirty years. He owned and operated the Vic Gioia Insurance Agency on Olden Avenue in Trenton prior to his retiring. Son of the late Giacomo and Mary Gioia and husband of the late Josephine Rinaldi Gioia, he is survived by his son, Jack Gioia and his wife Patricia; his former daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Gioia and his granddaughters, Lori Gioia and Kim Baxter and her husband Will and many loving nieces and nephews. He was a loving and devoted Husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Funeral services for Vito will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 beginning at 10 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ. Salenetri (Pop-Pop), 90, of Robbinsville, NJ passed away quietly and peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2014 in his home surrounded by his family. Born in Sprankle Mills, Pennsylvania, Nick was a lifelong resident of the Trenton area. He was a World War II veteran and a Master Tile Contractor for more than forty years, followed by a ten year career with the Trenton School Board. Nick was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, his parents, Dominick and Rose, brother Donald, sisters Phyllis Naylor and Marie Peluso, sister in law Joy and brother in law, Anthony Peluso. The loving husband of the late Margaret (Dolly) A. Salenetri, Nick is survived by his beautiful family; two sons and daughters' in-law, Nicholas and his wife Patricia and Joseph and his wife Sylvia. He also has five caring grandchildren, Joseph and his wife Allison, Jesse, Kasie and her husband Eric Biordi, Brandie, Nikki and her fianc Tom Garvey and six wonderful great-grandchildren, Mia, Anabella, Angelina, James, Ella, and Kali. He is also survived by two brothers, William and his wife Carol, Samuel and brother in law William Naylor. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives will miss him deeply. Nick loved to cook and was an avid collector of antiques. He taught his children, grandchildren, and even his great grandchildren many of his family recipes. Nick was a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who left the world a better place than he found it. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, he resided in Hamilton for 33 years before moving to Buckeye, AZ 5 years ago. Al was a United States Navy veteran. He was employed most currently by Trident Security Services in Arizona; prior to relocating to Arizona, Al was a Public Safety Officer at Rider University. Al was a train enthusiast, who enjoyed collecting Lionel trains and memorabilia; he was a member of the Lionel Club for over 35 years. Al immensely enjoyed his yearly coast to coast trips on Amtrak. Al was an exempt Fire Fighter who served with the White Horse Volunteer Fire Company of Hamilton Township, NJ and before that with the Florence Volunteer Fire Company of Florence, NJ. Al was also a member of Signal 22 Food Canteen in Trenton. Al was the Commanding Officer of the Trenton Division of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corp (USNSCC), now renamed and dedicated as the John T. Dempster Jr. Division. The Trentonian, MARY 'DOROTHY' BABYAR TRENTON - Mary Dorothy Babyar died peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2014. She was born in Pottsville, PA on September 14, 1936, the youngest of six children born to John and Rose Longo Ross. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by five brothers, Nicholas, Robert, John and Francis Ross and one sister, Rose Poppert. Dorothy is survived by her beloved children, John R. Molnaur and daughter-in-law, Holly with whom she resided. A daughter, Mary LaCava and son-in-law Richard. Five grandchildren: Brianna and husband George Diosteanu; Nicole and Nicholas LaCava; Kierstin and Madison Molnaur. A special niece Annmarie Ghezzi and her husband Mark and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and family, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Adam D. Babyar to whom she was married to for 20years. Mary Dorothy relocated from Pottsville, PA to Trenton, NJ as a teenager. She graduated from Trenton Central High School class of 1955. Dorothy worked for the State of New Jersey, Judiciary Branch, Superior Court Clerk's Office from 1956 until her retirement in July 2002. Dorothy loved glitz and the glamour of Atlantic City, especially the slot machines and casino's. She also enjoyed bingo, 500 rummy, word search puzzles, her comfy slippers, watching her favorite soap opera's especially "Young and the Restless." Her family was her whole world! She was born October 9, 1914 in Lebanon, PA. She was a graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School and St. Agnes School of Nursing, Philadelphia, PA. She was married to Maurice J. McIntosh on November 22, 1941 and moved to Trenton area 1946. One of the founding members of Incarnation parish in Ewing and worked as a nurse in maternity at St. Francis Hospital in Trenton from 1956 - 1980. She was a member of Incarnation Altar Rosary Society and a former member of the Ewing Women's Club. She married Frederick Dreves December 10, 1994. She was predeceased by parents - Daniel B. Sullivan and Mary Jane Zweir Sullivan, first husband - Maurice J. Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident. Joan was a long time member of the New Covenant United Methodist Church. She worked for many years at the Delaware Valley Bus Line. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo and doing crafts. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Born in Somerville, NJ she had resided in the Hamilton Township area for many years, prior to moving to Myrtle Beach three years ago. She was formerly employed by Lenox for many years in Lawrenceville, NJ. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Church. Patricia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She adored her grandchildren, and was their biggest cheerleader at all their events. Born in Eastman, GA and she was a longtime resident of New Jersey, living in Ewing, NJ for 30 years, and later resided in Hamilton Twp. Mary worked for Blakely Laundry in Trenton, Rider University, Weinstein's Deli in Lawrenceville and she later retired from the Acme in Lawrenceville. Daughter of the late Robert and Mary Horne, wife of the late Johnny L. Taylor Sr., 8 brothers and 2 sisters preceded her in death. Mary is survived by six children Linda Taylor, Johnny L. Taylor Jr., Aaron Taylor, Elder Rob Taylor (Valarie), Francine Taylor, and Timothy Taylor (Dawn), two brothers Robert and John Horne, ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends. Biase, 60, of Hamilton, and Belleville, NJ, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 23, 2014 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Newark, NJ and raised in Bloomfield, NJ, Michael resided most of his life in Belleville, before moving to Hamilton within recent months. He was a corrections officer for the Essex County Department of Corrections, and the owner/operator of Father and Sons Landscaping, serving Essex County for many years. Mike was a graduate of Bloomfield High School, class of 1971, and Essex County Community College. He was a member of the F&AM - Easton Lodge # 152, and he donated to many charities that touched his heart. Michael was an avid coin collector and loved football, especially his UCLA Bruins, and the New York Giants. Son of the late Michael Angelo and Antoinette Constance Alvino Biase, brother of the late Robert Biase, and son-in-law of the late Constance Caltagirone, he is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Tommasina Caltagirone Biase of Hamilton; his three children whom he cherished, Michael Angelo Biase (Valerie) of Belleville, NJ; Antoinette C. Carbone and husband Mario of Belleville; Rose Emma Biase (Matt) of Belleville; one grandson, who melted his heart, Michael Angelo Biase Jr., one brother, Lawrence J. Biase (Michele) of Belleville; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Rose Marie Biase of Belleville; Patricia and Reni Fernandez of Sayerville, NJ; Tina Hamden of Belleville; his father-in-law, John A. Caltagirone of Yardville; one brother-in-law, Carmen J. Carol is now dancing among the clouds with her four legged friends, who were waiting for her at the gates of Rainbow Bridge. Born in Trenton to Victor and Loretta Champion, sister of Victor and Lynn Champion; Carol lived her entire life in the Mt. Holly-Bordentown area. Carol was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam Era. Carol leaves to cherish her memory; her partner, of 31 years, Susan Dennis; her children, Walter Taylor and his wife Dawn, Geoffrey Taylor, Kimberley Trinity and her husband Adam and her grandchildren, Ashley Taylor, Andrew Trinity and Carlotta Taylor. The Trentonian, Joan Shepard (Fleet) DeNicola MELBOURNE, Fl. - Joan Shepard DeNicola died on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at her home at The Fountains, Stack Boulevard, Melbourne, FL. She was 90. She was born October 31, 1923 in Englewood, New Jersey, the daughter of the late William Hamilton Theophilus Fleet and Mabel Pollard Heath. Wife of the late Louis J. DeNicola whom she married on October 7, 1966 in Pennington, NJ. A graduate of Tenafly High School, Tenafly, NJ, she attended Pace Institute in New York City and subsequently served for more than 20 years as special assistant at Rockefeller Bros., Inc. In that capacity she was responsible for a variety of Rockefeller family personal arrangements both in Manhattan and at other residences throughout the country. Following her marriage, she moved to Pennington, NJ, where she and her husband maintained a produce farm on family acreage. She lived there until his death in 2000. During that period she was active in numerous civic and political organizations. Both she and her husband enjoyed rallying with other Airstream trailer owners at locations throughout the country. In 2001, she moved to Melbourne, FL, and became a resident of The Fountains, where she continued to be a leader in a variety of volunteer and community efforts. A direct descendant of many of this country's original founding families including Mayflower passengers Elder William Brewster and Stephen Hopkins, Capt Henry Fleete, patriarch of one of the First Families of Virginia, and numerous Revolutionary War patriots. Survived by two nieces, Carole Heath Jackson Dilley and her husband James E. of Cambridge, NY, and Barbara Fleet Jackson Hoffman, of Selinsgrove, PA, and three nephews, Christopher Stevens Jackson and his wife Susan G., of Millersville, MD; William Hamilton Fleet, Jr. and his wife Karin Z. of Charlotte, NC; and David Howell Fleet of Phoenix, AZ. Also survived by step-daughter Louise Geraldine DeNicola of Indialantic, FL, and three step-grandchildren Jonathan Wallhauser of Satellite Beach, FL, Mary Wallhauser Hopkins of Naples, FL, and Mark Wallhauser of Red Bank, NJ. She was predeceased by her sister Shirley Heath Fleet Jackson and her brother, William Hamilton Fleet, Sr. Visitation at 10:30 a.m. and Funeral Service at 11a.m. on Saturday, February 1st at the Blackwell Funeral Home, Pennington, NJ. Born in Fort Dix, NJ, Keyon was educated in the Trenton Public School System and graduated from Trenton Central High School. He worked several jobs but the job he liked the best was Waste Management. He accepted the Lord at a young age as a Jehovah Witness. Keyon was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Julia M. Wade; his stepfather, Robert "BT" Thomas; and his paternal grandmother, Rita Williams. Keyon leaves to cherish his precious memories his parents, Hattie Wade-Thomas and Michael Williams, Sr.; three sisters, B'Nai Wade, Brandi Thomas, and Tameka Sanchez; one brother, Michael Williams, Jr.; the mother of his children, Ernestine Woodard; one daughter, Keyonna Woodard; a son, Keyon S.
