The Trentonian, Price: $10.00, Margaret T. Kammerer OAK RIDGE, TN - Margaret T. Kammerer, 92, of Oak Ridge, TN, died peacefully on December 3, 2013 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born Margaret Theresa Lawrence on October 17, 1921, she was raised in Bethlehem, PA. In a double wedding ceremony shared with her youngest sister, she married Alexander Kammerer on her birthday in 1953. Two years later they purchased a new house in Hamilton Square, NJ. Margaret enjoyed telling the story of kiddingly asking the builder if he would take $10 as a down payment only to be shocked when he accepted their offer. From this humble beginning, Margaret and Al worked long and hard to make a comfortable home they enjoyed together for nearly 48 years of marriage. In the banking industry for 34 years, Margaret's career began at The Trenton Trust Company which held her fondest memories. In a time when business was conducted solely face-to-face, she greeted each customer with a smile and prided herself on knowing nearly all of them by name. Though ownership of the bank changed numerous times over three decades, her personalized level of service never wavered. Of the Catholic faith, Margaret was a dedicated parishioner of St. Gregory the Great in Hamilton Square. Along with her husband, she devoted countless hours to various duties, events and committees over a span of five decades helping the newly formed parish grow into a congregation too large that a new church had to be built. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Alexander in 2001, her sisters, Rosemarie Lawrence Andrews in 1971 and Sr. Anne Lawrence in 2012 and her brother, Michael Lawrence, Jr. in 1986. Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Lucille Lawrence Dredge, niece, Susan Dredge Emrich and nephews, Dennis and Brian Dredge all of Pennsylvania; niece, Patti Lawrence Mansfield of South Carolina and nephew, the Reverend Michael Lawrence III of Missouri; niece, Mary Beth Andrews Romanowsky of Tennessee to whom she was like a second mother and great nephew, Michael Andrew Patrone of Pennsylvania who was her "grandson." A special thank you is extended to the caring staff of The Courtyards Senior Living in Oak Ridge, TN where Margaret resided since March of 2011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at 12:00 Noon, at St. Gregory the Great RC Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. Interment will follow at Princeton Memorial Park in Robbinsville, NJ. Family and friends may call on Saturday, December 7, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margaret's memory to The Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834. www.saulfuneralhomes.com
